Blog : As the name suggests, Jharkhand has a temperate-type climate. The summers in Dhanbad are fairly pleasant ranging from hot-humid during the day to relatively cooler nights. Dhanbad being closer to the Bay of Bengal has a very serenading monsoon with short bursts of rain throughout the day. The winters here are beautiful with a temperature that is just perfect to start the day.

Blog : "My research internship experience at UiT Tromso in the summer of 2019 was definitely a highlight of my career, so far.I was lucky enough to be working under wonderful professors, who supported and mentored the interns in whichever way they could. The environment there is very conducive for research, as I found out over my 8-weeks long stay. My work there, along with the mentorship of the professors, enabled me to get familiarised with how research work is actually done in the top research facilities of the world. There was also a kind of freedom associated with my work, which enabled me to work on multiple projects over the course of my internship, 2 of which ended up as research papers.Tromso isn’t too big a city, so I could explore most parts of it over the course of 3-4 weekends. The local people I met tended to be reserved in their social interactions, yet were welcoming and friendly once the ice was broken. In particular, the professors and colleagues I interacted with on a daily basis made me feel right at home.Tromso also has a significant Asian-immigrant population, and one of my fondest memories that I came home with was of me playing India vs Pakistan cricket matches there, with strangers that became friends over my stay.In conclusion, it was a wonderful experience and I would certainly recommend considering the summer internship at UiT Tromso for anyone who wishes to go into the field of research."

Blog : "I got the opportunity to work on the ‘Application of Deep Learning in Medical Imaging’ at the Pattern Recognition Lab - University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU), Germany last summer through DAAD WISE scholarship program. The research milieu was unlike anything I had experienced before; the lab I worked in was more of a department - with numerous diverse groups of researchers, whereof I was a part of one. The professors and fellow researchers were considerate and fun. I became acquainted with the exact procedures to be followed for carrying out research on the international platform. The significance of the interactions I had and the contacts I made could not be overstated, thanks to which I’m still working remotely with them. During my 3 months stay, I undertook several gripping sojourns across Europe. I got to travel to Switzerland, Austria, Hungary and the Netherlands, savouring every locale I came across. Towards the end of my internship, I got to witness the Bastille Day celebrations at the Eiffel Tower. Paris' only fireworks show of the year was breathtaking, complementing their awe-inspiring military parade in the morning. My work-abode was multicultural, with people from a miscellany of cultures and research profiles. I met people from China, Russia, Germany, France, Iran and of course, India - all of them working to pursue higher studies through DAAD. The exposure I got was priceless, and keeping in view the relevance of Deep Learning in the modern epoch, I’d highly recommend this internship program to anyone who wishes to pursue their career in research."
